On July 14, 2011, a major road and traffic conference in the city of Lima, Peru, was organized by the General Direction of Roads and Railways, Ministry of Transport and Communications of the government of Peru. The event was sponsored by IVER and SEHOVER, authorized distributor/dealer for Ennis Traffic Safety Solutions in Peru.
During the conference, the Ministry of Transport and Communications emphasized their interest in the prevention of traffic accidents through proper traffic signals. The Ministry of Transportation suppliers and contractors were invited to present products to help Peru improve the roads and signage at potential accident locations.
Jose Brun, technical manager for Ennis in Latin America, spoke to the audience about Ennis’ mission to help save lives through the implementation of improved technology of road marking materials. He referred to the technology of water-based paints which offers better performance, durability and competitive cost compared to solvent-based paints. He also invited the contractors and authorities to try new products that deliver greater return on investments including epoxy, MMA and thermoplastics.
Executives of SEHOVER and Ennis continued their conversations at the laboratory testing facilities at the Ministry of Transport and Communications led by Juan Carlos Flores Cornejo, Rosy and Mercedes. As a result of the meeting, the ministry officials and Ennis promised to maintain close communications on how Ennis' products and technology can help improve road safety in Peru.
