Striping equipment can range in size from a small walk behind striper that holds 5 (five) gallons of paint all the way up to a highway striper that holds over 500 gallons of paint.  Stripers can be airless, air atomized, or some variation in between.  Plural component trucks are designed to spray, extrude, and profile, using 98:2, 4:1, 2:1, or 1:1 mixing ratios.  Thermoplastic stripers melt the material at 425°F.  In preparation for spray, extrude, or profile.  As a direct result of the transition from solvent based paints to waterborne paints, most modern striping equipment uses stainless steel for those internal parts that are to be exposed to the striping material.  Waterborne paint and some plural components are not compatible with soft metals such as brass, copper, or mild steel and so, stainless steel is used instead.  Walk behind thermoplastic units are a quick alternative to a highway thermo truck when the job is small.  Ennis Paint designs and manufactures products to work in the majority of traffic marking equipment throughout the world.
